Hi, I am Victoria Grimberg. I am passionate about bringing fika into people's lives and workplaces. My aim is to connect people with each other through the Swedish custom and tradition of fika, by weekly virtual fika pauses, workshops, networking and fika events.

I am a fikanista ☕🍪 A fikanista is someone who makes time to share a cup of coffee or tea and a little something to eat, ideally homemade cakes, buns or biscuits, with family, friends or colleagues. Prioritising a pause to socialise and catch up with people around you, get to know them and their story. This tradition brings people together. No wonder I’m a big advocate of this Swedish culture.

Fika is the delightful custom of enjoying a coffee and a treat. Fika breaks are at least 15 to 20 minutes long (but can go on for longer). Fika is a simple ritual, come as you are and leave as you are. Fika is to pause and to connect, connect with yourself, your family, or your colleagues. Fika is a way for us to connect with each other. Give yourself permission to pause, wherever and whenever, and to create joyful and happy memories you can cherish and treasure.

As you are now interested in fika, the next question is ‘How could you incorporate fika into your weekly routine?’, here are some ideas;

☕ Invite your community to your village hall for a Friday fika

☕ On a weekly basis, set up a face to face or an online fika with your colleague

☕ Meet a friend at a café for a catch up

☕ Establish protected fika time for your staff

☕ Ask your neighbour around for a fika including your homemade cake

☕ Start a monthly fika club at your organisation

☕ Bake cake and biscuits with your children and have a fika picnic with your family

☕ Invite your grandparents to a fika at your home

☕ Go on a fika date with your partner in your hometown or in a new city
